Tarek al-Aswad

I wanted to dedicate a post to Tarek al-Aswad, a revolutionary singer who died in Homs on the 24th February 2012 during the shelling on the al-Maalab area of Homs. I wanted to share the following videos since I hadn't shared them previously and also because I always come back to watch them when I'm feeling pessimistic about Syria.

The following video is of his and Anas al-Atarshah's funeral on the 25th February 2012.

In solidarity with Gaza

"Gaza, even if we are far, our souls are still connected together (two countries, same enemy). Besieged Homs. 16th November 2012."

A beautiful sit-in

The following video shows a beautiful sit-in with the revolutionaries of Homs with Lt. Abdul Razzaq Talas present, which was dated yesterday (05/05/2012).

I hope and wish that all these people stay safe and do not get harmed by Assad's forces. The young man's voice is beautiful and moved me beyond words. The unity, courage and bravery shown by many people all across Syria from different backgrounds is incredible.

A massacre emerged yesterday (07/04/2012) in the district of Deir Ba'alba in Homs province where 13 bodies were found dumped on a street with gunshots to their heads and blood drenching the pavement. The news broke out with the release of this video on Youtube.

The following video is an eyewitness account of the Deir Ba'alba massacre by the only survivor known to have come out of it (subtitled into English).
